Quincy Jones on Michael Jackson - SXSW Music 2009

Other than family, I can't think of any other person more suitable to speak on the creative legacy of Michael Jackson. Quincy Jones has an unparalleled legacy of his own, and the two together were definitely a force in the entertainment industry. I appreciate how the art of music is/was most important to the success of both their careers; A concept muted in many of today's new "artists." Although tragic for most, Michael's death and the resulting attention to his catalog appears to have intensified the discussion about our lack of well crafted mainstream urban music. I can truly appreciate all of the new YouTube tributes featuring original rearrangements of MJ tunes. I have faith that they are an indication of great things to come.
